Madame Sousou (1948)

Convinced that she is of aristocratic descent, the impecunious, delusional, and above all, megalomaniac, middle-aged coquette, Madame Sousou, poses as a fallen noblewoman. However, despite her capricious disposition, and the fact that she is the laughing stock of Bithoulas, her poor, working-class neighbourhood, her honest fishmonger husband, Panagiotakis, simply adores her. Then, the news of a handsome inheritance reaches the ears of the suave swindler, Katakouzinos, who, without a second thought, comes up with a daring plan to seduce Sousou and rinse her for every penny. Will the light-minded blue blood with the empty pockets succumb to Katakouzinos' irresistible charm and his beautiful but destructive lies?
