A Mother's Sacrifice (1956)

Magda Tega, an aristocratic, graceful, and well-to-do woman, has got her whole world figured out. Married to an affluent businessman, Magda sees her life take an unexpected turn when her romantic and innocent young daughter, Aliki, falls head-over-heels in love with a friend of the family: the twice-her-age composer, Alkis Dimakis. As one thing leads to another, and Aliki continues her clandestine rendezvous with Alkis behind everyone's backs, she gets pregnant. Now, to spare Aliki the embarrassment, and help her get married to the kind young suitor, Pavlos Dimitriou, Magda summons up the courage to pose as the infant's real mother, knowing that her desperate decision leads to a life of disgrace and hardship.
