The Heart of the Greek (1953)

Sotiris and Vathrakas are best friends, struggling roommates, and perpetually unemployed. Having fallen three months behind on rent, they must devise a foolproof money-making plan. But this is easier said than done. In the meantime, they pass the time together while waiting for a miracle to happen. Then, everything changes when Sotiris learns that Uncle John, a long-forgotten relative who made a fortune in the United States, has passed away. Suddenly, life is sweet again; as the sole beneficiary of the will, Sotiris inherits $500,000. However, the question remains. Can the two companions resist the allure of money, or will their newfound wealth own them?
