Temptation (1957)

Blind with sinful lust for ripe Maria, the seductive wife of his duplicitous farmhand, widowed miller Thomas is prepared to forsake his family and land for a night of passion. Infatuated by the conniving woman, Thomas strikes an unfavourable deal with the money-grubbing couple, only to become the laughing stock of the village. Now, humbled before God and his compatriots, vengeful Thomas devises a shocking plan to get even. But revenge is a double-edged sword; the tighter the grip, the deeper the cut.
