The Song of Pain (1953)

A young couple disturbs the peace of an elderly couple sitting on a garden bench. As the two couples make the introductions, the elderly couple begins to recount their sad story. Ioulia and Alekos met many years ago on a walk in the park and fell in love when Eva, Ioulia's sister, was still alive. Back then, the only ones who knew that Eva was dying were Ioulia and her parents. Sadly, everything could turn out well; however, for the sake of sick and irritable Eva, Alekos and Ioulia were forced to pose as friends, going as far as to sacrifice their love.
