Stoddard and his pal, the Wop, are college boys who don't exactly concentrate on their studies. Stoddard pulls a stunt on campus, for which he is warned that he has five more chances to behave himself. So he sets up a sign in his room entitled "Five to Go." Stoddard plays a trick on a professor's car, which reduces his score to four. The Wop finds a pearl in an oyster and dreams there must be a land where oysters grow like fruit on trees. Soon after, Stoddard and the Wop go into the woods to indulge on some "empire building." There, the Wop dreams he and Stoddard are living in a South Sea Empire, with Stoddard the Prime Minister and Stoddard the King. They capture a rabbit to eat. They return to their rooms to cook it, but are caught. Thus, Stoddard now has "three to go." A professor's pretty daughter, Eloise Randall, shows up on campus and Stoddard makes a play for her, dropping Lucille Graham, his girlfriend. He attempts to steal her picture after she refuses to give him one. He is caught in the act, and his score drops another point. Eventually he drops to "one to go." However, in an attempt to find a pearl for the girl, he eats several dozen oysters and gets sick. His illness saves himself from any more demerits. Lucille arrives to console him, and all ends well.
