Midnight Mambo (1998)

Carlos, a Guatemalan immigrant, works twelve hours a day, every day, washing dishes by hand at an L.A. restaurant. He sends all his money back to his wife, Luisa. After two years, he returns home, but finds Luisa and the cash gone... off to Texas with an American. Panicked, Carlos returns to L.A. and begs his only friend, Tony a waiter from the restaurant for help. With that, the two hop in Tony¹s beaten car in search of Luisa and the money. Mixed with comical roadside adventures, Carlos and Tony also run head-on into issues dividing Americans and Latinos in this country.
