Two old friends twenty years later are looking for the grave of a third friend who was killed in partisan action. Over the peacetime years, their friendship has been put to a number of tests. In a flashback, the two ex-partisans recall the exchange of fire in which their friend was killed. They go an argument about the sense of the struggle, about the meaning of life. Nearby, a company of young people enjoys themselves, playing the guitar and singing. Will they grasp the message conveyed to them by that boy who never lived to be their senior?
