The Whole Town Accuses (1956)

A writer short of the readies ,François,finds a bag of money every morning in front of the door of his house;he's got a big heart and he uses his money to help his fellow man: he buys presents to the children ,he finances council developments.This liberality has an unfortunate outcome: gangsters think he is one of them and demand a fair share of the loot.François,mistaken for a thief, is arrested .Overnight,the whole town accuses their benefactor.Nobody believes his story of that "found" money.And of course,the writer cannot explain where this fortune comes. On the day of his trial, the brats give the key to the mystery.
