Lost Dreams (1961)

Having nothing to lose, Kostas Labiris, an aspiring author with ambition and self-confidence, joins a small company that sells spools of thread. At the same firm, Liza Zeriga, the pampered daughter of a failed industrialist, lands a job as a typist. Of course, both happy-go-lucky dreamers see this job as a stepping stone to a brighter future. However, life is as exciting as it is unpredictable. As the weeks turn into years, a monotonous succession of wrenching sorrows and fleeting joys gradually transforms Liza and Kostas' once-zealous aspirations into bitter disappointment. Now, the incurable optimists flirt with utter defeat. After all, reality is cruel, and hope can only go so far. But what is the cost of a lost dream?
