The Urn (1962)

Dead broke and already behind four months in the rent, the always impecunious best friends, Andreas and Sotiris, work their fingers to the bone as construction workers to eke out an existence. Under those dire circumstances, walking down the aisle with their long-term sweethearts, Aliki and Vaso, is out of the question; however, things will take an exciting turn when the lucky duo unearths a ceramic urn crammed with gold sovereigns. Now, fifteen thousand coins are more than enough to change their lives forever; nevertheless, little by little, unprecedented feelings start to creep up on them, as money affects the behaviour of the two nouveau-riche companions. Is money a blessing or a curse?
