On a dry and golden June somewhere at the lush Thessalian Plains, the coming of a modern combine harvester brought by the charming Athenian mechanic, Thanos, will inevitably ignite a silent unrest within the ranks of the wheat workers. But, as the wealthy local landowner, Antonis Tsakas, simplifies the labour-intensive activity of harvesting, the unexpected arrival of his ex-convict brother who thirsts to get what he thinks is his fair share of the large inheritance, threatens to bring to an end a timid clandestine affair. Chara, Antonis' godchild, has been dreaming of trading in a dull life in the province for the big city's bright lights; however, is her stalwart lover who he says he is?
