The Girl of Sin (1958)

Having no one to turn to, the hapless orphaned woman, Lisa, is working for peanuts as a seamstress at a prestigious Athenian atelier, struggling to eke out an existence. However, as if life weren't hard enough already, Lisa is in for a sudden triple shock, when her jealous and spiteful boss shows her the door; her insensitive aunt, too, throws her out of the house, and the only person who ever showed her compassion dies in a car accident. Now, left all alone to fend for herself, Lisa has no other choice but to accept a job offer at an ignoble cabaret somewhere in the town's seedy underbelly. But, there, a chance encounter with handsome Yorgos reminds Lisa that life can be pleasant; nevertheless, fate has other plans in store for the young lovers. Will the kind girl of sin ever find peace?
