The Uncle from Canada (1959)

Three aspiring but penniless musicians--violinist, Panos; pianist, Yorgos, and bouzouki player, Kostas--are anxiously waiting to get their lucky break. In the meantime, they are already five months behind in the rent. Under those circumstances, Kostas will have to resort to a reckless but necessary fabrication to escape landlady Evanthia's wrath, advertising the imminent arrival of his affluent but utterly imaginary expatriate uncle in Canada. Without a doubt, this cunning plan can get the friends off the hook; however, what happens if romantic but clever Evanthia realises that everything is a beautiful but cruel lie?
