Man on Fire (2004)

This action thriller directed by Tony Scott and written by Brian Helgeland, is based on A.J. Quinnell's 1980 novel of the same name. Denzel Washington plays John Creasy, a former CIA SAD/SOG officer and a U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance captain. Creasy is now a bodyguard who becomes deeply attached to his nine-year-old charge, Lupita "Pita" Ramos (Dakota Fanning), in Mexico City. When Pita is kidnapped, Creasy unleashes a violent and brutal quest for vengeance against those responsible.
