The Speed Queen (1953)

This Paramount Sportlight short goes to Holland to feature Fannie Blankers Koen, the Dutch Olympic champion who was named female athlete of the year in 1952. The world-famous athlete is shown in her varied roles as a housewife, mother and record-breaking athlete, and demostrates her abilities in broad (now known as long)and high jumping, sprinting, hurdling and tossing the dicus and javelin. The slow motion camera captures her form in all of these sports events.
