Dream of a Free Country: A Message from Nicaraguan Women (1984)

In 1979 Nicaragua, there was a general revolt against the corrupt and brutal dictatorship of Anastasio Somoza Debayle. Among its notable features was the significant contribution that women played in the revolution, both in actual combat (being 30% of the combatants) and beyond. This film explores their participation in in this fight for freedom and the struggle to rebuild their land while striving for a more just society.
