All his life Francis Ebejer was known for the 'wall' he put up whenever fans, critics and even friends tried to look into his private life. A Maltese and Austrian co-production, this documentary not only takes a look at his international works but also takes a deep insight into the real Francis Ebejer. In 1996 producer/director Malcolm Scerri-Ferrante discovered rare and exclusive footage of Ebejer in Vienna, Austria. The tapes, containing unused scenes from an attempted docudrama, had been relegated to the basement of a producer's weekend log-house. These recordings, filmed shortly before Ebejer's death, showed him playing himself in what seems to be a very rare attempt to reveal his private life. It was the discovery of this footage that led Malcolm to produce this documentary and showcase the complexities of the man who critics described as ahead of his time.
