Married to a provincial magistrate, Caroline would lead a rather quiet life if she did not have a lifelong passion: carriage driving competitions. A recognized champion, she gives herself body and soul to this sport, which is her whole life. However, after a disappointing season, Caroline is abandoned by her sponsor.
