The little child was never interested in studies; instead he spent his time in the vicinity of Nature. As an adolescent, he was deeply moved by Ashwini Kumar Dutt and his inspiring speech about the partition of Bengal. The young poet resolved to spend the rest of his life fighting and writing for his rights as well as the rights of his fellow people. He staged various plays and was successful in arousing the patriotic feelings in rural Bengal. He was imprisoned for years for sedition. The Government banned his plays and he was there after known only as a singer and performer. In his late fifties he passed away in his sleep.
