The Hour of the Wolf (1979)

Damon, a washed-up theatre actor addicted to gambling and alcohol, slowly destroys his career and life. Compelled by debt to take increasingly reckless risks, Damon knows he is playing with fire when he asks for another loan from people involved in the underworld. As he tries to escape the circle of violence and dependence, he meets Ivy, a lonely runaway fleeing her authoritarian politician father. Without a second thought, Damon decides to help her, but it is Ivy's affection and love that ultimately helps him get back on his feet. However, as they run out of time and options, will the pursued soulmates find happiness and their place in the world?
