After Ghandour double-crosses Nafousa, he proposes marriage to settle the matter. When Nafousa is adamant that her daughter Melabesa must wed first, Ghandour offers to have his son Mahboub wed Melabesa. But Melabesa is in love with her cousin Sokar.
