The story of two different men brought together by New Brunswick's decision to entrust the management of millions of acres of forest to six multinational corporations. One of the men is a retired local urban planner, while the other is a painter and winemaker. Together, they travel to Finland, home to UPM-Kymmene, one of the largest corporations that has obtained licenses for the land in New Brunswick, to urge its officials to practice responsible forestry. They are also confronting top provincial politicians to establish a new, community-based forestry policy that would be ecologically sustainable while providing more jobs than today's highly mechanized one.
