Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)

Queen Elizabeth I is in conflict on several fronts, including the treachery of her own family, who secretly conspire to remove her from the throne. On the amorous sphere, her love for a sailor does not seem to have a likely future. On the other hand, the King of Spain, Philip II, sends his army with the intention of restoring roman catholicism in England. Cate Blanchett reprises her role as Queen Elizabeth I in this sequel with incredible production and costume design: a stunning period drama.
