Destiny (2002)

Joe Callahan marries Paula in her native Cambodia. One day they walk right in the middle of a battlefield. Paula is seriously wounded. Thinking she's going to die, Joe has no choice. He reluctantly leaves her motionless body behind. Joe returns to his home in the United States. It's a long arduous stage to healing. He later meets Helen and falls in love with her. When he finally comes to peace with the loss of Paula, he marries Helen. Happy ending? Not yet ...Paula somehow survived her near death experience. She journeys to the US in search of Joe!
