Heo Seon rescues a small, white snake which, unknown to him, has gained mystical powers during the course of its 1000 years of life. In gratitude, the snake transforms itself into a beautiful maiden and marries Heo Seon. However, the local Buddhist priest tells Heo Seon of the true nature of his new bride and warns him that a snake can never be trusted
