M. Nicallet, a rich glove maker at the rue de la Paix in Paris losses a fortune to Lucien, a happy banker. His daughter Janine urges him to write a letter saying he cannot pay cash but will offer his shop instead. Lucien takes over the shop and hires two lovely girls. An elegant clientèle comes back to Lucien's. Janine, jealous of his success, decides to leave. Father Nicallet knows better and urges her to make peace with Lucien. The two will eventually marry.
