Storyline:  In 1920s Tokyo, impoverished 12-year-old Midori sells camellias to survive. After her bedridden mother dies, a seemingly kind gentleman tricks her into joining Aka Neko Za, a traveling freak show. Midori endures abuse and degradation from the circus performers until illusionist Wonder Masamitsu arrives and protects her. As their bond deepens, Midori finds brief respite, but darker threats loom over the troupe.
