High spirits in the village by the sea. Old veterinarian Doc Hansen marries Stina after more than 40 years. The "young couple" feels a little queasy. If that works out? The situation is similar for another couple: the veterinarian Thomas moves with his two children Nele and Moritz from the city to his great love, the fisherwoman Anne. Anne is expecting the new addition to the family with a mixture of joy and uncertainty - after all, she has been used to living alone for years. In fact, the young woman feels a little overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle and the sudden disorder in her small, idyllic house, and Thomas, who takes over Doc Hansen's veterinary practice, also reacts with frustration to the skeptical looks of the country folk. In addition, the other fishermen keep a very close eye on Anne's new luck. They are convinced that she will soon have to give up her job to devote herself fully to her new family - and are already speculating on her boat and her supply contracts. But although Thomas would also prefer to see her at home, Anne has no intention of giving up her beloved job. But when Thomas has to take over a vacation replacement in Hanover, Anne is suddenly alone: with the children, her seal William, her professional obligations - and a fishing boat that needs repairs that are as complex as they are expensive. The problems seem to be getting over her head, doubts are waking up: in the end, didn't everything go a bit too quickly with Thomas' move? It is precisely in this situation that Anne's ex-boyfriend Robert, who once almost broke her heart, appears. Despite all the warnings from her best friend Piet, this situation puts Anne's love for Thomas to the test.
