Hjärtats väg (2008)

The way of the heart is a movie about going your own way. A journey that starts with a rebellion against a static religion and follows with the question of theodicy: if God is love where does hate come from? In his quest for knowledge Dawood Neusser, the director and central character, finds understanding in the meetings with three different people. Muhammed Muslim is an imam and shaykh who states that spirituality and experience is above faith. The writer Torbjorn Safve is living outside the city close to nature. According to him our system is restraining humans' creativity and inner beauty. Marina Neusser has taken a influence from various Indian philosophies. She focuses her energy on her body and emotions. When religion and society become tools for superstition and conformity, the mystics have always reminded man about the importance that all change starts from within. This film is an attempt to approach that tradition.
