The wonderful talent of Helene Schjerfbeck (1862 - 1946) was already discovered as a child. Art studies began at the age of 11 at home and in the late 19th century in France. At home, Schjerfbeck's paintings did not face understanding. Helene, who suffered from a childhood hip injury, withdrew in the early 20th century to live with her mother. After she died, Helene moved to Ekenäs. Schjerfbeck was never married, but as she approached the age of 55, two men appeared in her life. Both artists. They were Gösta Stenman and Einar Reuter. Without their understanding and actions, Schjerfbeck would have been in a hopeless situation. The official art world had completely forgotten her. Helene sold her paintings to anyone now wanted them on their wall.
