Sure Shot's life ends in an untimely fashion. Sportswriter, Reg Locker, leads a group of dedicated fans to the hometown of Sure Shot Dombrowski. Along the way a band of "eccentric" characters retell Sure Shot's life. Erwin V. Boyd talks about his rookie days, Farley Thorlaksen tells about the tournament in Russia, and Joanne Avery (Sure Shot's ex) tells about her brief marriage and life with Sure Shot.
