The 9th BET Awards was hosted by Jamie Foxx and celebrated the achievements of African-Americans in television, films, music and sports. The event was held on June 28, 2009 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California and aired on the Black Entertainment Television cable channel.
