Pierriot, a little boy, leaves his Public Housing Project to spend a holiday on the "Hélène", a canal boat. It would be a welcome break for him if the atmosphere on the barge was relaxed. But it is far from being the case, for Ferdinand Fripiat, the bossy infirm father, is in permanent conflict with his two sons, Rick and José.
