At six years old, bespectacled and liquorice-chewing Stan (Nicholas Evans) is determined to have the best Christmas ever. Awake the early hours of Christmas morning, Stan can't help but take a peek at the presents. When he discovers they aren't anything like the pictures on the box, he must go back to the drawing board of his epic plan.
