Ken Arok - Ken Dedes (1983)

A traditional Javanese story based on historical events in Kediri, East Java, popular in Indonesia theater and literature.. Ken Arok, after being abandonned as a baby by his parents, was raised by criminals. When he grew up he became a fugitive from the law. He began to change after he met a religious leader Loh Gawe who helped him apply to become a soldier in Tumapel. When his military career began to climb, he fell in love with the wife the regent "Akuwe" Tunggul Ametung, named Ken Dedes.
