Making Music: The Art & Craft of David Rivinus (2009)

The story of David Rivinus' work to save the careers of violists and violinists by redesigning an instrument with a 500 year history. It follows the creation of a special viola for the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota, and includes interviews and music by players who have been impacted by his innovations, including Wyndam Hill artist Tracy Silverman. Making Music gently explores the lines between art and craft, tradition and innovation, and the ways David's wide-ranging intelligence, creativity and skill have made a significant difference in the lives of professional musicians around the world.
