Ruth is in her forties and has been in a relationship with a female politician for a long time. However, to her mother Estela, they have always been "friends". Until one day Estela discovers (or rather, stops denying) that her daughter is a lesbian. After the initial shock, she makes an enormous effort to understand the situation and get familiar with the issue (she buys books, goes to gay bars, talks with her friends). The problem for Ruth is that Estela, in her attempt to accept her, begins to interfere more and more in her life, in her home and even in the relationship with her partner, which is not going through its best moment. Estela seems to have no limits: she goes from initial inaction to invasion of privacy. The roles are reversed and now it is the daughter who must accept the mother she has.
