Low Coal is a deeply troubling window into the world of the Coal industry and the areas it has colonized. Showing what it's like to live with the legacy of Coal, this film profiles dozens caught up in the battle over Coal's future. There's a battle going on in the Southern Coalfields, summed up in an oft-quoted phrase by those who would like to see all mining end- There are no jobs on a dead planet. While this battle rages outside the mines, miners face barbaric conditions and extreme risks underground to, in their words, 'keep our economy going'.
