How often does paperwork get in the way of human lives? 'papers' is the story of Gina, a young Korean American woman who desperately wants to stay in Korea to give birth. However, her dreams of giving the child a 'Korean life' are shattered when her employers refuse to renew her contract. As she faces a slew of visa and bureaucratic problems that challenge her identity she begins to question her feelings and intentions.
