Floyd Collins

In 1925, cave explorer Floyd Collins becomes trapped in a remote Kentucky cave, while searching for a new entrance to nearby Mammoth Cave. The ensuing rescue effort attracts national attention, as throngs of spectators and journalists converge outside the entrance. One reporter, William "Skeets" Miller, risks his life crawling into the cave, where he conducts face-to-face interviews with the trapped man. His reports are syndicated by the Associated Press and carried by newspapers across the country, turning him into an overnight celebrity. Meanwhile, as time passes and Floyd's situation becomes increasingly dire, tensions among rescuers mount and conditions on the surface deteriorate into chaos.
