American Genius (2011)

A crew of documentary filmmakers hunts down the last of the MIDI composers--Karl Karkens, a man clinging desperately to an outdated audio format. After much prodding, the irascible and mendacious Karkens gives the crew more than it bargained for. He's either one of our greatest living artists or a megalomaniacal charlatan. Of course, there's no reason he can't be both.
