Valérie, a youthful 40, is an active, exemplary woman. A psychiatrist by trade, she is also a perfect mother, wife, and parishioner. And yet, Valérie is also a murderer. Valérie kills - though never with a light heart - men guilty of domestic violence. And Abi comes along every time. Abi was her name when, at the age of 16, she killed for the first time. Her own father. A demanding, determined, uncompromising teen, Abi is hounding Valérie. She is her traumatized and avenging conscience. Valérie would like to be rid of her demon, but her husband, a loving partner but also a dedicated police chief, is already starting to close in on the truth.
