The Pontians: New Generation (2011)

Twenty-five long years after the last adventure of Kostikas and Giorikas in The Pontians (1986), their legend lives on. This time, Panayiotis Psomiadis, Prefect of Thessaloniki, enlists the help of his friend and renowned filmmaker, Charitidis, to make a book-to-film adaptation inspired by the exciting adventure of their parents, when, years ago, witnessed a team of criminals burying a treasure. Now, the pair of grown-up Pontian-Greek friends, who are financially hard-pressed, embark on a mission to unearth the treasure, bent on striking gold. Unfortunately, however, they will have to dig in the courtyard of a nunnery. Will things work out in the end?
