In 1998, during the height of Japan's club scene, "Heavenz" emerged as the first film centered around club DJs. The movie stars Tetsuhiro Yamashita (the son of Yujiro Ishihara) in his debut leading role as a talented, aspiring DJ. His journey to the top is challenged by a rival DJ, played by the renowned Gagaku musician Hideki Togi, who brings a unique musical perspective to the film. Set against the backdrop of the electrifying club scene, the film explores themes of friendship, rivalry, and personal growth, all woven together through the universal language of music.
