Who is ForestHeightster? (2012)

'Who is ForestHeightster and why is he so mean?' is a 9 minute documentary. It tells the story of an anonymous online commenter with a habit of making mean spirited comments who draws the attention of news reporter Mike Ryerson. By reading over 200 comments made by the anonymous poster, Ryerson uncovers ForestHeightster's identity and realizes that he's really a prominent and well connected local businessman. After Ryerson publishes ForestHeightster's identity in his small neighborhood newspaper, the story goes viral on the Internet and has some consequences that no one intended. A cautionary tale for anyone who believes they can keep their online life separate from their real life.
