Yume no Hawaii de bon odori (1964)

Natsuo lost his father in World War II and longs to fly to Hawaii from Japan where his grandfather was last known to reside. He is free from high school and desires to find what is next in his life. His grandfather and his mother are estranged and have become cross and hostile to one other. This is one reason his mother is resistant to the idea of her son taking flight to Hawaii. At the same time the boy is finding romance and love.
