Shagua De Huangjin tells the story of some Chinese gold prospectors during the 1860's Australian Gold Rush. Often the subject of racist violence the prospectors worked the fields abandoned by failed miners. They were often driven off claims by other miners or settlers. A young man discovers the find of the century and also realizes his feelings for a local farm girl. He and his family must get their find to Sydney.
