Set in the late 1980s, the story focuses on teenager Kat Connor, who suffers an unexpected turn in her life when her mother Eve disappears. As well as being a major event in Kat's life, it also coincides with her self-discovery of her sexuality. Having lived in a repressed environment, her feelings towards her mother are contradictory.
