A Town Like This (1983)

Christine Jamieson, a young schoolteacher, faces loneliness and isolation when she moves to the small country town of Boocamba. When Michael, an old friend, visits the town, he is devastated to learn that Christine has committed suicide. Unable to accept the official version he pursues his own enquiries about her death. The circumstances reveal the towns' peculiar sexual practice of "training" and the inadequate laws relating to the crime of rape.
